What the price covers
- The fare is fixed before departure: traffic and night trips do not change it
- Pickup at the airport and cruise port — the driver waits with a name board
- If your flight is delayed we wait as long as needed, at no extra cost
- A child seat on request, and no surcharge for luggage
- Pay in cash, by card or by bank transfer; no prepayment required
In short. A transfer Tartu — Koidula costs €80 for the whole car — up to four passengers with luggage. The road is about 65 km and an hour through Põlva and Setomaa. The way back, Koidula — Tartu, costs the same.
The crossing is open in daytime, so leaving Tartu around six in the morning is enough for the opening — not the middle of the night, as from Tallinn. The opening hours change — check them before you travel.
For the return, tell us roughly when you expect to clear the checkpoint: the car will stand at the exit, not an hour away.

From Koidula to Tartu — we drive that too
The return is a route of ours in its own right, not a favour: Koidula — Tartu costs the same €80. Send the date and roughly when you expect to clear the checkpoint — the car will stand at the exit and take you to an address, the station or Tartu airport. Taxis hardly ever wait at Koidula and the railway station is a two-kilometre walk away, so a car that is already there makes all the difference.
Where Koidula leads
Opposite Koidula is the Russian checkpoint Kunichina Gora, with Pechory and Pskov closest beyond it. If you need the Riga road afterwards, Luhamaa suits better: the same price from Tartu, half an hour more on the road.
Why not the train
A train does run to Koidula, and for one traveller it is cheaper. But there are a couple a day, and about two kilometres remain from the station to the barrier on foot with your bags. For two or three people the car wins: €80 for everyone, door to checkpoint.

Comparison
Train or transfer to Koidula
Plainly: a train runs from Tartu to Koidula, and for a single traveller it is cheaper than a car. The case for the car is the timetable and the last two kilometres: few departures, and a walk from the station to the crossing.
| Way | Price | Time | What matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| EstoniaTransfer private car | €80 per car | ≈ 1 h | door to the checkpoint, departure at the hour that suits you |
| Elron train, line R46 | Elron fares | depends on the service | cheaper alone, but a couple of trains a day and about 2 km from the station |
| Your own car | fuel | ≈ 1 h | needs a GoSwift queue booking |
When the car earns its keep. An early start for the opening, suitcases, children, two or more people — and the way back: taxis hardly ever stand at Koidula, and a train does not wait for someone held up at passport control.
