Koidula ↔ Narva · €200 per car

Taxi and transfer Koidula — Narva and back

The crossing in Narva itself is for pedestrians only: you cannot drive through it, and a bridge with luggage and a queue on foot do not suit everyone. Then you enter Narva from the south-east, through Koidula, and drive about 270 kilometres across Estonia. We collect you on the Estonian side of the crossing and drive you to the door you need in Narva — €200 for the whole car, up to 4 passengers with luggage. From Narva to Koidula — the same price.

What the price covers

  • The fare is fixed before departure: traffic and night trips do not change it
  • Pickup at the airport and cruise port — the driver waits with a name board
  • If your flight is delayed we wait as long as needed, at no extra cost
  • A child seat on request, and no surcharge for luggage
  • Pay in cash, by card or by bank transfer; no prepayment required

In short. A taxi from Koidula to Narva costs €200 for the whole car — up to 4 passengers with luggage; the sum is not split by seats and does not grow with suitcases. The road is about 270 km past Tartu and Jõhvi, about 3 h 30 min. From Narva to Koidula — the same.

We meet you on the Estonian side of Koidula after control and drop you where you need in Narva: a house, a hotel or the station. You pay on arrival, in euros — in cash to the driver, by card or by bank transfer. No prepayment.

Why not directly: since February 2024 the Narva — Ivangorod crossing lets pedestrians through only. Cars, coaches and minibuses do not use it, the bridge is crossed on foot with your bags, and the queue can be long. Those for whom that does not work cross further south, at Koidula.

If you are in Ivangorod right now

If you cannot or would rather not walk across the Narva bridge, you can go round it through Russia: a separate car drives from Ivangorod to Kunichina Gora, opposite Koidula — about five hours, its own trip for ₽25,000, paid in roubles. After control at Koidula our car meets you and drives you north to Narva for €200. It is a whole day on the road, but with no crossing on foot; both parts can be booked at once.

How the trip works

From Setomaa to Ida-Viru county

  1. 01

    Date and approximate time

Send the day and at least the part of it — «morning», «towards evening»: nobody can guess the minute you clear the border anyway. If you travel from Narva to the crossing, we need the address and the time you must be at Koidula. The confirmation carries the price, the car's registration and the driver's phone — save them while your phone has signal.

  2. 02

    Meeting at Koidula

You go through control yourself. The car stands on the Estonian side where the checkpoint grounds end; you will not have to look for it — you already know the registration from the confirmation.

  3. 03

    Räpina, round Tartu, Jõhvi

From the crossing the road goes through Räpina and around Tartu, then the highway to Jõhvi, and at Jõhvi onto the Tallinn — Narva road. About 270 kilometres in all, about 3 h 30 min. Where to stop to eat or stretch is up to you; if you need euro cash, we can stop at a cash machine in Tartu.

  4. 04

    Drop-off in Narva

We drive you to the door you need — a flat, a hotel, the station. That is where you pay: in cash to the driver, by card or by bank transfer.

How to get from Koidula to Narva

Why not via Narva

Who is better off reaching Narva via Koidula

The detour is longer and dearer than the direct way. If the Narva bridge works for you, cross there. Koidula is for other cases.

  • You are coming from Pskov or Pechory

From Pskov to Kunichina Gora, the Russian side of Koidula, is about an hour. Driving from there to Ivangorod for the Narva crossing is a big detour north via Gdov and Slantsy, with a bridge on foot at the end. It is simpler to cross nearby and drive to Narva through Estonia.

  • You need to cross by car

No transport uses the Narva crossing — no cars, no coaches, no minibuses. If you are driven to the border, it is Koidula or Luhamaa. You go through control yourself; on the Estonian side we take over.

  • Lots of luggage, children, elderly relatives

At Narva the border is crossed on foot over the bridge and you carry all your bags. Here you ride by car up to the crossing and after it, so there are no suitcases to haul over a bridge.

  • The queue at Narva is too long

Pedestrians at Narva sometimes wait a long time. If standing there would take longer than the detour, Koidula is the fallback, long as it is. You gain no opening hours: all three crossings are open from 7:00 to 19:00.

Narva — Ivangorod: on foot only

The Estonian half of the crossing is signposted Koidula; the Russian one is called Kunichina Gora — the road from there leads to Pechory and Pskov. Cars and coaches use Koidula, including the Tallinn — Pskov service.
All three crossings keep the same hours
Narva, Koidula and Luhamaa work from 7:00 to 19:00 Estonian time; all three are closed at night. Koidula was open round the clock only until the end of February 2026. The hours can change — check before you travel at politsei.ee.

Because the Narva crossing is pedestrian only: cars, coaches and minibuses do not use it. Anyone crossing by car goes via Koidula or Luhamaa. How do I get from Koidula to Narva without a car?
With a change in Tartu: about two kilometres on foot to the station, the Elron train to Tartu, then a coach to Narva, which takes about 2.5 hours. There are few trains on the line, so check the timetables before you travel.

Yes, for the same price — €200. We collect you at an address in Narva and set the departure by the crossing's hours. We drive you to the border, you go through control yourself, and a separate car takes you on to Pechory and Pskov on the Russian side.
Is Koidula open at night?
No. The crossing is open from 7:00 to 19:00 Estonian time, like Narva and Luhamaa, and there is no way across the border at night anywhere. Koidula used to work round the clock, but that has been dropped. It may change again, so check the hours before you travel.
