Leave the border in the evening and you reach Narva near midnight
Add about 3 h 40 min of driving and half an hour for a stop in Tartu to the time you clear the border. Out at five in the afternoon — in Narva shortly after nine; out just before closing, at seven — after eleven. If a check-in awaits you in Narva, warn your hosts about a late arrival while you still have signal. The crossing's hours may shift — check them the day before.

Luhamaa or Koidula if you are heading for Narva
Koidula is about 15 km closer to Narva and has a railway station two kilometres away; our transfer price is the same. Luhamaa suits those who reach the border on the Riga — Pskov road and clear control at Shumilkino. From Narva to Luhamaa and on to Pskov
The return trip is for those who need to get from Narva onto the Riga — Pskov road or to Pskov via Shumilkino. We collect you at your address and drive you to the checkpoint for the same €200. The Estonian car does not cross the border: from Shumilkino to Pskov is a separate trip on the Russian side, paid in roubles. Both are booked in one message.
How the trip works
The road from Luhamaa to Narva step by step

Date, approximate time and your address in Narva
Send the date, the address in Narva and roughly when you expect to clear the border: «around lunch», «in the first half of the day». From that hour we work out when you will be in town. The car's registration and the driver's phone come in the reply; signal on the Russian side of the crossing can be weak, so open it beforehand.

Meeting after control
You go through control yourself. The driver stands where the Estonian part of the checkpoint ends and knows that getting out of the border takes time. If the queue holds you up, message as soon as you have signal; the car is not going anywhere.

The first third — to Tartu
First about 30 kilometres to Võru, the nearest town to the crossing. Then north to Tartu: about 95 km from the border, roughly a third of the road. Tartu is the most convenient place to stop: to eat, have a coffee, stretch your legs.

North from Tartu — Jõhvi and Narva
The remaining two thirds run north through Jõhvi — this is already Ida-Viru county. If you did not stop in Tartu, you can rest here. In Narva we drop you at the address you gave when booking: a hotel, a house or the station.
Why a car
How to get from Luhamaa to Narva
Without a car you cannot cover even the first leg — about thirty kilometres from the crossing to Võru. Buses only start there: then a change in Tartu and another two and a half hours on a direct coach to Narva.

Without a car — only from Võru. If you have little luggage and no hurry, you can reach Narva by bus with a change in Tartu. But the first thirty kilometres, from the crossing to Võru, still have to be driven.
